In lieu of a formal rehearsal, Gretchen and Eamonn opted for a more laid back rehearsal barbecue. The barbecue took place on the same farm where they were getting married, the Isham Family Farm outside of Burlington, Vermont. Every wedding guest was invited, and there were a few pups in attendance as well. I usually expect to feel a little awkward at rehearsal dinners because I don't know anyone, and I was especially nervous for this one as I had not even met the bride and groom yet! But...it was the coolest rehearsal I've been to. The whole time I was thinking, "Wow. This is what I want my rehearsal to be like!!!" Nope, not engaged or anything but the idea is stashed away.
After I'd been there for five minutes, Eamonn was asking if he could grab me a beer. All of their families and friends were so friendly and chatty, I met a ton of cool people and it made the wedding the next day even better because I already felt like I knew people and didn't have to stand in the corner alone sipping my beer when I had a break.
Their dinner had tons of food, beer, and empty containers for people to walk up the hill and pick their own berries. Half of my pictures are of people hugging, and the other half seem to be pictures of their dog Bud getting nibbles (read: huge bites) of people's food.
Check out the gallery below for a few of my favorite moments from this rehearsal barbecue at the Isham Family Farm right outside of Burlington, Vermont. Gretchen and Eamonn's family and friends were all so, so happy to see them finally married and it was really cool to be a part of the entire festivities during their wedding weekend.
